 1. Short title, commencement, application and extent.-

(1) These regulations may be called the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017. 

 (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 

 (3) They shall apply to every coal mine. 

 (4) They shall extend to the whole of India.
